Requirements and limitations
To register and renew a .swiss domain name All of the following requirements must be met: a. You must be a legal entity (i.e. not an individual) with a sufficient connection to Switzerland. This occurs if you are: i. A public body or other public organization governed by Swiss public law; ii. A legal person registered in the Swiss commercial register with its registered office in Switzerland and its effective administrative seat in Switzerland; or iii. An association or foundation not registered in the Swiss commercial register with its registered office and effective administrative seat in Switzerland. b. At the time of application, the requested name belongs to a category of names available for assignment. c. The intended use is legal under Swiss law. Note that if the domain name is used to provide products or services or to advertise them, an effective seat and location of administration is required. d. The requested name can legitimately be considered objectively connected to the applicant or to the intended use of the domain name. This is particularly the case if the domain name meets one of the following conditions: i. contains a name for which the applicant holds a trademark right; ii. refers to a name objectively related to the State or its activities that is required by the competent public body or public law organization in question; iii. contains a geographical designation, or a clear variation or abbreviation of a name, to which the applicant has a legitimate right or interest, to which he has a legitimate right or interest in the public mind, or is authorized to use by the public body or bodies or other interested organizations; iv. reflects a name in which the applicant has a legitimate interest or which is associated with the applicant in the public mind; and it's. The name applied for is not a "Generic Designation" provided they are eligible under the Registry Naming Mandate Program set forth in Section 6 of the Registration Policy.
